EXECUTRIES
The bereavement of a relative or friend can be a traumatic and devastating event. It is a time of great upset and stress when much needs to be organised and planned. Knowing what to do and how to administer the deceased’s estate can be a complicated process.
At RGM we have many years of experience in dealing with the legal process following a death and are here to guide you with a friendly and professional service to ease the burden and remove some of the additional pressures at a particularly stressful time.
Whether it is establishing the extent of the estate, notifying banks, building societies, insurance companies, investments, pension companies, arranging valuations, completing the forms for the Inland Revenue and Courts, calculating whether there is any Inheritance Tax to pay, advising on procedures where there is no Will, obtaining Confirmation (the document which gives executors legal title to deal with the deceased’s assets), gathering in the estate, or distributing the estate, we will carry it out in as efficient a manner as possible and keep you informed at all times.
It can also be possible to vary the terms of a Will after someone’s death, if the outcome is not the most tax efficient or differs from the wishes of all the beneficiaries. We can advise on the process and prepare the appropriate Deed of Variation if necessary.
